What
is a medium?
It's
someone who communicates with people who have passed over.
When
did you realise you had the gift?
It
first happened when I was a child from the age of around eight.
I saw ghosts and had all sorts of vivid dreams, but I never thought
there was anything wrong with it. It all seemed normal to me.
When
did you realise that it wasn't?
When
I was ten years old I pointed out the ghost of a little boy to
a friend of mine who couldn't see it. That was when I realised
that somehow I was different.
What
do you say to people that don't believe in what you're doing?
I
would say keep an open mind and you might be surprised. Particularly
if you have lost someone close, you may find enormous comfort.
Do
you get messages you don't understand?
All
the time. I will say what I see or hear even if it means absolutely
nothing to me. Once, during one of my shows, I had a spirit called
Cyril come to me showing me a very big key. I didn't understand
it at all, but I passed on the message to the person it was intended
for. The lady just thanked me for the message and said no more
at the time. After the show she came to me and explained who
Cyril was. She said that he was a friend who always insisted
that he didn't believe in the afterlife and promised that if
there was one, he would come back and show her the key of life.
That was her confirmation of the afterlife.
How
do you help people by doing what you do?
Losing
someone close and dear is a traumatic experience and it is often
the apparent finality of it which hurts most. Things you might
have said when they were alive, but didn't and now you never
can. When you understand the spirit world you know that you can
still communicate. On one private reading I told the man that
he had asked his mother for help - not just in his mind, but
out loud, and that she had received the message - he confirmed
that unusually he had done just that a few days earlier and it
gave him comfort to know that his mum had heard him.
Do
you believe in good and evil?
I
believe in right and wrong, yes. I believe in mischievous ghosts
or spirits, but I don't believe in the devil. I think that if
you believe in God there couldn't be a devil. The force of God
is too strong to allow it. I think the devil was a fear factor
created by religions to keep people scared and submissive.
Have
you ever been scared by a ghost?
The
first time I saw the ghost of my grandfather Charles, it shocked
me, perhaps you may say scared me. There was no reason for me
to be scared of him, because I loved him dearly and spent many
days fishing with him. He was a good and kind man. I believe
my shocked reaction to seeing him, was for my own benefit - that
is I actually took notice and did not dismiss this marvellous
sighting, as just one of those things.
